"When I was young my brother got a set of oil paints. He never used them so I began to
use them. The way they felt and what I was
able to express made me instantly hooked. I always had wanted to paint a Landscape.
Meeting artists on the cape showed me how to think about painting a landscape. For
me the truly the thrill of painting anything is to be out in nature and have
the experience of being outdoors and painting from life is the most interesting part of
painting.
My approach to painting is simple I work with a brush or a palette knife. I start
with large masses of color spots and begin relating them one to the other.Until they
begin to express what I visually have been studying. Much like the way a conductor
arranges his orchestra."
